Cassero Cassis

Cassero – An exquisite cassis liqueur made from blackcurrants

Cassero is our time-honoured blackcurrant liqueur, handmade and matured at leisure. Its delicately tart, fruity aroma with a subtle hint of bitterness makes it truly distinctive. Our classic, which has been around for nearly 100 years, is a living testament to tradition.

Framboise des Bois

Framboise des Bois – A raspberry liqueur, lively, elegant and full of character

Framboise des Bois is a fine raspberry liqueur, carefully crafted and slowly matured. It offers an intensely fruity aroma with a delicate sweetness and the fresh flavour of raspberries. A delight brimming with natural elegance.

Cassero Kirsch

Cassero-Kirsch – A traditional cuvée made from our Cassero and fine cherry brandy

Cassero-Kirsch combines the fruity depth of our Cassero with the crisp intensity of fine cherry brandy. A liqueur that blends fruit and elegance in perfect harmony. A full-bodied treat for anyone who appreciates something special.

Kirandy – Cherry Liqueur: A Tradition Returns

Kirandy is more than just a novelty: it brings a classic cherry experience back to the glass – inspired by a historic recipe from Beaufort and reimagined for today. Carefully selected, ripe cherries are transformed into a deep red liqueur with pure fruit character, a delicate acidity, and a smooth, lingering finish. Enjoy it neat as a digestif, light and fruity with Crémant, over ice, or as an elegant accompaniment to dark chocolate and vanilla. Kirandy brings together craftsmanship, heritage, and elegance in every sip.

Vieille Prune

La Vieille Prune – The pure character of the sour plum, refined through traditional craftsmanship

La Vieille Prune is a pure plum spirit with no added sugar. It is golden in colour, full-bodied and unadulterated. Carefully harvested plums are gently fermented, allowing them to develop a dry, crisp aroma. A pure delight that perfectly combines depth with the pure power of the plum.

Our family-run manufacture

Historic photo

At Beaufort Castle, our liqueurs and spirits are still produced just as they were when it all began almost a hundred years ago: by hand, with patience and a feel for the fruit. Nothing here is mass-produced, and nothing is outsourced. Every step – from macerating the berries through to maturation and bottling – takes place in the historic vaults beneath the castle.

Every bottle is filled, labelled, corked and sealed individually – piece by piece, bottle by bottle. This ensures that every drop remains authentic, unadulterated and full of character. Our workshop is not a place of mass production, but of dedication – a living example of Luxembourg’s craft tradition.

Our history

In 1930, Edmond Linckels began developing Casseros, the redcurrant liqueur that quickly became the hallmark of the entire village. In 1964, he gave up farming and devoted himself entirely to his liqueurs.

Following his death, his wife, Anne-Marie Linckels-Volmer, continued production, which is closely linked to the history of Beaufort Castle and Fortress.

Who is behind Liqueurs du Château de Beaufort?
Our liqueurs are made by a family-run business in Luxembourg. The recipes, craftsmanship and commitment to quality have been passed down through generations, combining experience, care and great attention to detail.

What does “a long tradition” mean when it comes to your liqueurs?
For us, tradition means time-tested recipes, a strong focus on quality and an artisanal approach to production. We believe in authentic flavours, careful craftsmanship and refined enjoyment that does not need to be loud to leave a lasting impression.

Where do your liqueurs come from – and what does their origin represent?
Our liqueurs are deeply rooted in Luxembourg and closely connected to the Beaufort region. For us, origin is about more than a place: it represents an attitude, craftsmanship and respect for regional traditions of taste and enjoyment.

Are the liqueurs connected to Beaufort Castle as a visitor attraction?
The liqueur brand and the castle operations are managed separately. Our liqueurs stand for artisanal quality and regional tradition, while information about castle visits or opening hours is not part of the liqueur brand.

What is the best way to enjoy your liqueurs?
It all depends on the occasion: neat as a digestif – often at room temperature to bring out the full aroma – over ice, as an aperitif with Crémant, soda, tonic or rosé, or served with desserts such as vanilla ice cream, creams and fruit compotes.

Which liqueur is best suited to which occasion?
Cassero (Cassis) is intensely fruity and ideal for aperitifs, spritzes, sours and desserts. Cassero-Kirsch is elegant and refined, perfect neat, over ice or with Crémant. La Vieille Prune is warm and rounded, traditionally enjoyed as a digestif and excellent in desserts. Framboise des Bois is fragrant and light, making it ideal for summery drinks and dessert creations.

How should I store liqueur?
Ideally, keep it in a cool, dark place with the bottle tightly closed. If you enjoy it as an aperitif, the bottle can also be stored in the refrigerator. Consistent storage conditions help preserve its aromas and quality over time.

Are your liqueurs suitable as gifts?
Absolutely – they combine enjoyment, craftsmanship and a strong sense of place. A gift becomes even more special when accompanied by a simple serving suggestion, such as a Kir Royale, a fizz or a vanilla dessert topped with a splash of liqueur.
