The legal basis and further information relating to data protection can be found in the Luxembourg law of 1 August 2018, the law of 5 May 2005, and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
We process your personal data only in accordance with Luxembourg and European data protection legislation. Personal data is stored only to the extent necessary to provide a service, make the website available, comply with legal obligations, or fulfil one of the purposes specified below.

1 Information about the collection of personal data

(1) The following information explains how personal data is processed when you use our website. Personal data means any data that can be related to you personally, for example your name, address, email addresses, or user behaviour. In this way, we wish to inform you about our processing operations and at the same time comply with our legal obligations, in particular those arising from the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If the enquiry is connected with a contract, we delete the data arising in this context after the periods applicable to the term of the contract have expired. Otherwise, we delete the data once storage is no longer necessary, or restrict processing if statutory retention obligations apply.

(4) If we use commissioned service providers for individual functions of our services or wish to use your data for advertising purposes, we will always select and monitor these service providers carefully and will provide detailed information about the respective processes below. As a rule, you must provide additional personal data for this purpose, or we process such additional data in order to provide the respective services. The principles of data processing stated above apply to all processing purposes described here.

(2) In some cases, we use external service providers to process your data. These providers are carefully selected by us, are bound by our instructions, and are regularly monitored.

(3) We may also pass your personal data on to third parties if participation in promotions, competitions, the conclusion of contracts, or similar services are offered jointly with partners. 5 Objection to the processing of your data or withdrawal of consent

(1) If you have given consent to the processing of your data, you may withdraw it at any time. The lawfulness of the processing carried out up to the time of withdrawal remains unaffected.

(2) Where we base the processing of your personal data on a balancing of interests, you may object to the processing. When exercising such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why your personal data should not be processed in the manner carried out by us. If you object, we will examine the situation and either discontinue or adjust the data processing, or demonstrate our compelling legitimate grounds for continuing the processing.

(3) You may of course object at any time to the processing of your personal data for advertising and data analysis purposes. You can preferably exercise your objection to advertising by using the contact details provided above.

6 Processing of data from your end devices (“Cookie Policy”)

(1) In addition to the data mentioned above, we use technical tools for various functions when you use our website, in particular cookies that may be stored on your end device. When you access our website and at any later time, you can choose whether to permit cookies in general or which individual additional functions you wish to select. You can make changes in your browser settings or through our consent manager. Below, we first describe cookies from a technical perspective (2), before explaining your individual choices in more detail by describing technically necessary cookies (3) and cookies that you may voluntarily opt into or out of (4).

(2) Cookies are text files or information in a database that are stored on your hard drive and assigned to the browser you use, so that certain information can be transmitted to the party placing the cookie. Cookies cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your computer; their primary purpose is to make the online service faster and more user-friendly. This website uses the following types of cookies, whose operation and legal basis are explained below:

  • Transient cookies: these cookies, especially session cookies, are automatically deleted when the browser is closed or when you log out. They contain a so-called session ID. This enables different requests from your browser to be assigned to the same session and allows your computer to be recognised when you return to our website.
  • Persistent cookies: these cookies are automatically deleted after a predetermined period, which varies depending on the cookie. You can view the cookies that have been set and their durations at any time in your browser settings and delete them manually.

(3) Mandatory functions that are technically necessary to display the website: the technical structure of the website requires us to use technologies, in particular cookies. Without these technologies, our website cannot be displayed fully and correctly, or support functions may not be available. These are generally transient cookies that are deleted at the end of your visit to the website and at the latest when you close your browser. You cannot deselect these cookies if you wish to use our website. The individual cookies can be viewed in the consent manager. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1), first sentence, point (f) GDPR.

(4) Optional cookies with your consent: we only set various cookies after you have given your consent, which you can select during your first visit to our website using the cookie consent tool. The functions are activated only with your consent and may serve in particular to analyse and improve visits to our website, facilitate use across different browsers or end devices, recognise you when you visit, or display advertising, including, where applicable, advertising tailored to your interests, measuring the effectiveness of advertisements, or showing interest-based advertising. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1), first sentence, point (a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. The functions we use, which you can individually select and withdraw again through the consent manager, are described below.

7 Special forms of use of our website

Our presence on social networks

(1) We maintain various profiles on so-called social media platforms. We operate these profiles with the following providers:

Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61571909848134
https://www.facebook.com/business/gdpr

Instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/
https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy/?entry_point=ig_help_center_data_policy_redirect

(2) For these information services, we use the providers’ technical platforms and services. Please note that you use our profiles on social media platforms and their functions at your own responsibility. This applies in particular to the use of interactive functions, such as commenting, sharing, or rating. When you visit our profiles, the providers of the social media platforms collect, among other things, your IP address and other information stored in the form of cookies on your end device. This information is used to provide us, as the operator of the accounts, with statistical information about interactions with us.

(3) The data collected about you in this context is processed by the platforms and may be transferred to countries outside the European Union, in particular the United States. According to their own statements, all of the above providers maintain an adequate level of data protection corresponding to that of the former EU-US Privacy Shield, and we have entered into standard data protection clauses with the companies (with the exception of Xing, as this provider is established within the EU). We do not know how the social media platforms use the data from your visit to our account and your interaction with our posts for their own purposes, how long this data is stored, or whether data is passed on to third parties. Data processing may differ depending on whether you are registered and logged in to the social network or visit the page as a non-registered and/or non-logged-in user. When you access a post or the account, the IP address assigned to your end device is transmitted to the provider of the social media platform. If you are currently logged in as a user, a cookie on your end device may be used to track how you move around the network. Buttons integrated into websites enable the platforms to record your visits to these web pages and associate them with your profile. Based on this data, content or advertising can be tailored to you. To prevent this, you should log out or deactivate the “stay logged in” function, delete the cookies stored on your device, and restart your browser.

(4) As the provider of the information service, we additionally process only the data arising from your use of our service that you provide to us and that requires interaction. If, for example, you ask a question that we can answer only by email, we will store your information in accordance with the general principles of our data processing described in this Privacy Policy. The legal basis for processing your data on the social media platform is Article 6(1), first sentence, point (f) GDPR.

(5) To exercise your rights as a data subject, you may contact either us or the provider of the social media platform. Where one party is not responsible for responding or must obtain the information from the other party, we or the provider will forward your request to the relevant partner. For questions about profiling or the processing of your data when using the website, please contact the operator of the social media platform directly. For questions about the processing of your interaction with us on our page, please write to us using the contact details provided above.

(6) The providers describe in their privacy policies what information the social media platform receives and how it is used (see the links in the table above). There you will also find information about contact options and settings for advertisements. Further information about social networks and how you can protect your data is also available at www.youngdata.de.
