Vieille Prune –
The character of the plum

Clarity, depth and precision of craftsmanship

Some spirits are bold, whilst others are subtle and profound. Vieille Prune belongs to the latter category: a pure plum spirit, powerful, direct and unadulterated. Every bottle tells a story of carefully selected fruit, patience and artisanal expertise – essential and clear, with no additives, just the plum itself.

From fruit to infusion

The plums are harvested at the peak of ripeness, stoned and processed immediately. The stones remain in the infusion, lending the liqueur its distinctive depth and flavour. Each batch develops its own unique character, shaped by the harvest and the liqueur-makers’ expert touch.

Vieille Prune is neither distilled nor sweetened, but is gently left to infuse for several weeks until the plums have developed their full flavour. The result is a dry, clear and intense home-made liqueur, to be enjoyed neat and straight away.

Flavour and enjoyment

Its aroma is reminiscent of pure plums, underpinned by delicate fruity notes and subtle aromatic hints. On the palate, Vieille Prune is dry, fruit-forward and displays a harmonious warmth, whilst the finish is lingering, lively and characterised by a hint of stone fruit.

Enjoy a wide variety of experiences

Vieille Prune reveals its character in a variety of ways:

Enjoyed neat as a digestif – at room temperature, intense and clear

Gently to complement desserts – vanilla ice cream or plum desserts can be superbly enhanced with plum brandy (Prune), an elegant alternative to rum

Warm plum compote – flambéed with fine plum brandy (Prune) and served with creamy vanilla ice cream, a harmonious blend of fruity intensity and refined elegance

Moist sponge cake – flavoured with a hint of Prune, it lends the cake a refined, fruity note

Raisins soaked in Vieille Prune, much like classic rum-soaked raisins, develop an aromatic depth and lend baked goods such as apple cake, strudel or stollen a special, delicately spiced note.
